THAI FOOD FESTIVAL

14th-16th April 2017 

(11.00 AM – 18.00 PM)

At The Square, Bournemouth Town Centre

 

 

Introduction

 

The Thai food and culture festival provides an opportunity for children, young people and families from mixed heritage (Thai –English) to meet socially and explore Thai food and culture. This will be the 6th time running for this festival therefore community support will be greatly appreciated plus entrance is free of charge.

 

The Thai food and culture festival aims for promote Thai restaurants from all over England and celebrate Thai culture.

 

The festival will have food demonstration workshops held by the Office of Commercial Affairs, where food of exotic taste and textures is explored, the workshops are open to the public. There will also be a Thai boxing show, where people demonstrate and reflect on the cultural differences in boxing.  There will also be a showcase of Classical dancing and music (singer), which is an exciting experience to endure.

 

There will also be a special stall for Thai Beer, which is complementary to the Thai food being sold on the day. Also on the programme is the Tourism Authority of Thailand, who aims to promote tourism to Thailand through reasonably prized travel packages.

 

The festival delivers an exclusive, accessible and unique programme of Thai culture, tradition and language. The Thai Food and Culture festival brings together the growing Thai community as well as attracting local residents and a large number of visitors into the area. The festival gives an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the diverse culture that exists in Bournemouth, providing an array of opportunity for participation and involvement.

 

 Aim:

 

The Thai food and culture festival highlights and promotes the Thai community; attracting more members, building a strong and sustainable community.

 

The festival would also raise the profile of the existing Thai school to residents and visitors as a whole, raising awareness and support to the Thai school and community.

 

The festival provides a great opportunity for the Thai community to come together to celebrate their tradition, culture and language; this meets the aims of the Thai school.

 

The festival will also help build networks and partnership for future events.

 

Admission fee for the fair is FREE.
